Marketplace review / Ranked

Skinport review
Skinport offers a clearly described bot-held marketplace and direct checkout, with transparent tiered seller fees, but cash payouts are bank-based and country-dependent.
Documented strengths
- The current seller-fee tiers are published with examples.
- Items are deposited to platform bots before listing, reducing buyer dependence on a seller being online.
- Buyer checkout does not require loading a marketplace balance.
Limits and unknowns
- The standard public-listing seller fee is higher than several P2P alternatives.
- Seller payouts are not available in every country.
- KYC and banking eligibility should be checked before depositing an item.
Our verdict
Skinport is built around bot-held inventory and direct checkout. A seller transfers an item to a Skinport bot before it appears for sale, so a buyer does not have to wait for that seller to come online and send a P2P trade after purchase. Trade-locked items can still remain unavailable for delivery until Steam permits the next transfer.
The main trade-off is cost. Skinport’s standard public-listing seller fee is higher than the lowest P2P fee in this comparison, although qualifying high-value and private listings have reduced tiers.
Buying on Skinport
Buyers select an item and pay at checkout rather than loading a general marketplace balance. Skinport publishes a 0% marketplace buyer fee, but that does not guarantee that every bank, card issuer or currency conversion adds no cost.
The item is already in Skinport-controlled inventory. After payment, the buyer requests delivery to the Steam account. If Steam marks the item as trade locked, it remains in the Skinport inventory until delivery becomes possible.
Selling fees and payouts
Skinport’s July 2025 fee update lists three relevant tiers: 8% for a normal public listing, 6% for a qualifying high-value public listing and 2% for a private sale shared through a direct link. Thresholds should be checked in the listing currency.
Seller proceeds are paid automatically to an eligible linked bank account. Skinport does not present PayPal as a seller payout route. Selling is therefore a poor fit for someone who cannot complete the supported bank and identity onboarding in their country.
KYC and regional availability
The payment setup requires seller identity verification. Official material also makes clear that payouts are unavailable in some countries. Complete the payout setup before depositing a valuable item instead of assuming that purchase availability means seller-payout availability.
What the score does not prove
The score rewards clear public fee and process documentation. It does not mean Skinport always produces the highest net sale price. A higher gross sale price can offset a higher fee, while a low fee can be outweighed by a lower buyer bid. Compare the expected net amount for the actual item.
